The Sanskrit word Chakra literally translates to wheel or disk. In yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, this term refers to wheels of energy throughout the body. There are seven main Chakras. To visualize a Chakra in the body, imagine a swirling wheel of energy where matter and consciousness meet. This invisible healing energy, called Prana, is vital life force, which keeps us healthy and vibrant.
As we go through life, we are collecting experiences, memories and old traumas that, if not cleared, will get stuck in our Chakra centers and not only create negative feelings and emotions but also can create disease. DIS-EASE basically means, no harmony or no ease or balance. The good news is that you can clear your Chakra centers and reverse damage and allow your body to naturally heal.
This meditation series is devoted to each of the Chakra centers, starting with Red, the Root Chakra and work their way up the spine through the Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye, and finally to the Crown Chakra. Each Chakra center has a sacred color associated with it. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Light Blue, Blue, Purple. Each series should be done as one Chakra center, practiced each day for one week, before moving to the next Chakra Center. I highly recommend spending an entire week on each Chakra center. Emotions, feelings, and images will present themselves to you during this practice. You need at least a week to process what is bubbling up to the surface.
